AMY'S STORY
In May of 2016 Amy’s Art Studio and Gallery opened in downtown Wentzville, MO where Amy's artwork is on display and she teaches classes to students age 6 - adults. Classes touch on all of the traditional mediums such as watercolors, acrylics, oils, graphite, charcoal, soft pastels and many more.
Amy has a Bachelors Degree in art education grades K-12; and graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She has a real passion for art and education and believes in continuing education for people of all ages. Amy takes her roll as a mentor to young artists very seriously. She has numerous teaching experiences in different arenas. She taught Tae Kwon Do in Lancaster, PA to children and adults while training for her black belt. She attained her black belt in Tae Kwon Do in 2006. During that time, she was also a facilitator for the Drug and Alcohol Council working with at-risk youth in small groups in the inner-city schools. She worked for the Wentzville School District as a 7th grade special education case manager for 4 years. All of those experiences have lead her to where she is today, operating her studio/gallery.
